Are you looking to book an incredible tour of Pompeii? After many years setting up events in the Bay of Naples, I have developed a skill for finding expert local so-called guides to work with me on events.
Here are some of my ideas for booking a top Pompeii guide
1. Treating You Personally
Having a licensed guide does not necessarily assure you that you will be taken cared of properly. Seek out some sense of personal treatment or a sense that the trip will be personalized to you and your interests.
An expert local tour expert should have more than competence in your language. More often than not what passes for speaking a foreign language is more speaking a few words of a foreign language. That’s very different than communicating meaning and to give a sense of the place.
Many times, guides believe that the same info repeated like a broken record will create a better organized customer overall experience. I have noticed, your satisfaction on a trip of a lifetime to Pompeii, Capri, Naples or the Amalfi Coast is enhanced by a personalized experience.
2. Is the guide Licensed?
Of course you have to know if the local guide is credible and one way of doing that is through asking her license number. In that way you are really assured. Check if she is licensed by region. The tourism in Italy’s 20 regions is run by their government. The region we are talking about where The site of Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast that we mentioned before are located is the one called Campania. So in Italy tourism is run by the government.
According to Italy’s local law, local guides have to be acknowledged and approved to work by their region. Each region has its own guiding certificate and their own authority that issues those certificates.
As an example, Rome has Rome so-called guides, Florence has Florence guides, Venice, Naples, and so on. Rome guides are not allowed by law to guide outside Rome (e.g. Florence, Ancient Pompeii and so on and so forth).
This region, as I said to you before, the Campania region, is the only one in Italy where the license covers many places like The roman remains of Pompeii, Capri, Amalfi, Naples, Sorrento. Let’s say the whole region. This is the significance of the title “Licensed Guide. ”
So actually, even Trip Escorts or Excursion Managers are not the same as Excursion Local guides. It is workable to hold both licenses.
A Tour Manager works taking groups all over Italy, as an example, or Europe. Then when they arrive in each place, the group is handed to a local expert or licensed expert guide.
The Campania region, is various in that authorized local guides are qualified by law to local guide in locations all over the region. This includes The site of Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri, the City of Naples, and some of the other smaller localities that belong to this region.
So be sure that you have a licensed guide by the region.
